About us

The story of Signau House began with a villa in Zurich-Riesbach, near the Seefeld district, and a great deal of idealism. A decision was made to breathe new life into the building from 1912 and turn it into a beloved place for locals, tourists, and business travelers alike.

After extensive renovation work, the boutique hotel Signau House & Garden opened its doors in mid-2018. It is a place for relaxation and discovery – a place where people love to linger and return time and again. We look forward to welcoming you!

Warm regards,
Your hosts,

Our history

The two-storey listed building in the eponymous Signaustrasse impresses with its simple elegance. Generosity and great attention to detail characterize the villa, which features an imposing entrance hall, elegant function rooms and an architectural garden that was once designed by Gustav Amman for the planning office of the famous Froebel brothers.

In the course of the extensive renovation work for the new Boutique Hotel Signau House & Garden, the existing structure was modernized in a careful and contemporary manner. This also included eliminating blatant architectural sins, such as the destruction of the garden in the 1960s when it was converted into a parking lot.

A great deal of emphasis was also placed on elegance and comfort during the reconstruction. All furnishing, color and material concepts are not only harmoniously coordinated, but also do justice to the original function of the house and its current use as a place of well-being and relaxation.

The house

Signau House is an imposing mansion dating from 1912, located in the charming Riesbach district of Zurich. With three floors, the building offers enough space for a wide variety of purposes. The first floor is particularly impressive, exuding a special charm with its spacious design and inviting rooms.

The villa’s architecture bears witness to a bygone era and combines historical charm with modern comfort. High ceilings, magnificent windows and elaborate details give Signau House a unique atmosphere that invites you to linger and explore.
